2013 Texas Legends Ceremony

Play stopped around 6:00 PM for the Texas Legends of Foosball Ceremony. Jim Stevens opened with an introduction of the festivities, then a moment of silence for the victims of the Moore tornado. Followed by a moment of silence for Mike Simons. We lost Mike this past year. Mike was an integral part of Texas State, Houston Foosball, and the USTSA tour and will be missed.

Jim and "Ole Dad" Steve Murray explained the new process of selection for this year's Texas Legends of Foosball. The past Texas Legends decided on and built the ballot through a nomination process then voted on the outcome. An additional change this would be that for the first time 1 out of state player would be  eligible for the honor. Here is the information from the printed ballot.

It was also announced that Foos Inc. would become an active part of Texas State. Foos Inc. is a promotion group based out of Houston. Foos Inc is made up of Scott King, Tracy McMillin, Joe Reynosa, and Randy Price. They will join the great staff already in place to add fresh blood and new ideas to the already experienced Texas State crew.

It was great to see Oklahoma player Tommy Adkisson be the first out-of-state representative! Congratulations to the new Texas Legends! I personally felt very honored to be nominated as an out- of-state representative. Foosball action is still cooking down in the Lone Star State. Stay up to date at www.thisweekinfoosball.net .
